This material is intended for students attending the annually organized Summer Training Course (SUMTRAIC) in Prague. The measurements during the summer school are performed in groups. The present measurement description includes the use of the EDICAM fast camera and the Beam Emission Spectroscopy system. The aim of both measurements is to make the students get familiar with these particular diagnostics, to perform reliable measurements in specific plasmas, to analyze the recorded data, and finally to prepare a scientific presentation for the closing session. The camera measurement teaches a simple image processing, namely the reconstruction of the two-dimensional visible light distribution while the during the BES measurement the aim is to calculate and analyze density profiles and their time evolution.
